Twisted Handles

I began working with metal in the mid 70s, and I currently have a complete shop where I can make pretty much anything with metal.

There are 3 basic ways of working with metal. Adding to it, subtracting from it, and changing its shape.

Additive metal work is welding, where new metal is added to increase the volume and change the material. Subtractive metalwork is the technique of removing metal, by machining it, to change the shape. Constant Volume metalwork is the blacksmiths traditional method of heating metal, and moving it without adding or subtracting. These pieces use all three processes, but from a hand/eye/brain craftsmanship perspective, as opposed to an industrial one.

They are quite large, 18” to 24” in length. They are intended for large entry doors, and some are in use for that purpose.
